Clinton Adams (1918-2002) was an American art historian, curator, and printmaker. He was born in Brooklyn, New York and attended the City College of New York and the University of Iowa.
Adams worked as a curator at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, and the University of New Mexico Art Museum. He also taught at universities including the University of California, Los Angeles, and the Otis College of Art and Design.
As a printmaker, Adams created over 200 prints and was known for his use of vibrant colors and bold shapes. He was also a collector of pre-Columbian art and contributed to the scholarship of Mesoamerican art.
Throughout his career, Adams received numerous awards and honors for his contributions to the field of art history and printmaking, including a Guggenheim Fellowship and a Fulbright Fellowship.
